By embracing personal style over status-quo trends, Cariuma empowers conscious consumers to buy quality over quantity. That’s why they source their materials responsibly and design timeless silhouettes
Cariuma is most proud of their direct contributions to improving the environment and the lives of others. They donate their gently-worn and returned sneakers (including sample styles) to Soles4Souls – a 301c nonprofit organization that provides footwear to underserved communities. Through the brands micro-enterprise program they also send shoes and clothing to entrepreneurs in developing countries which gives them the ability to start small businesses and break free from the cycle of poverty
Cariuma ensure that their factory workers make a comfortable, living wage and adhere to a manageable work week to ensure a healthy work/ life balance. They follow International Labor Organization (ILO) Guidelines which promote and uphold social justice and internationally recognized human and labor rights, in order to pursue universal and lasting peace
Cariuma's cofounders, David & Fernando, left their corporate jobs with a shared idea to build a company that would better serve people and the planet. As a new sustainable sneaker brand, the brand's team is small, yet mighty. They’ve created a close-knit community of people that really care about what they are doing when they get out of bed every morning
In addition to utilizing single-box packaging (our shoe box doubles as their shipping box), Cariuma also uses 100% recycled & recyclable paper to cushion new kicks on their journey. Their new shoe filler (that keep sneakers from getting squashed during transit) is biodegradable as well. Their recycled & recyclable paper is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council
